Prof Dr Sivakumar Krishnasamy is a Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Professor at University Malaya Medical Centre. A multiple gold medalist and the first Asian to top the European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery exam, he has trained in Malaysia, the UK, and China. He pioneered Uniportal VATS and advanced aortic surgery services in UM, and coordinates the Cardiothoracic Parallel Pathway Programme with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. An active educator, examiner, and researcher, he also serves as Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery and recently launched Malaysia’s first Masters in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
