Dr. Ceresoli achieved his MD at the University of Milan, Italy. He specialized at the same University in Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology. He is currently Head of the Mesothelioma Unit of the Oncology Department at Humanitas Gavazzeni Clinic, Bergamo, Italy. Dr. Ceresoli is part of the Faculty for thoracic cancers of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO). He is reviewer and editorialist for several major journals, including The Lancet, The Lancet Oncology, Lung Cancer, Journal of Thoracic Oncology, and European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. He is author of more than 160 publications on international indexed journals. His clinical and research activity is mainly in the field of pleural mesothelioma. He is currently Head of MET.I (Mesothelioma Network Italy), an Italian National Foundation for Research and Treatment of pleural mesothelioma.

Prof Dr Paul Martin Putora is a radiation oncologist at the Kantonsspital St. Gallen in Switzerland and holds the degree of Professor at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Besides radiation oncology he also holds degrees in business informatics, healthcare informatics and management. His research focuses on thoracic oncology and decision-making - he is especially interested in areas where evidence is not clear and controversial. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has participated in multiple guideline- and decision-making projects in various topics of thoracic oncology – many focusing on the interdisciplinary aspect of thoracic oncology and specifically on the role of radiotherapy in this setting.

Prof Emeritus Paul Van Houtte, MD is a Belgian radiation oncologist who spent most of his career at the Institut Jules Bordet in Brussels, where he served as Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology since 2014 and is now Professor Emeritus. He completed his medical training at the Bordet Institute and undertook additional training in Rochester with Prof Rubin. He holds qualifications in radiation oncology and nuclear medicine. His main clinical and scientific interests focus on the management and treatment of lung cancer, reflected by his active involvement in international societies and meetings such as ESTRO and IASLC, as well as cooperative groups including EORTC. In 2017, he received the ESTRO Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine and played a major role in developing and directing international teaching courses in radiation oncology.

Dr Thierry Berghmans is Doctor in Medicine since 1990 at the Free University of Brussels (ULB). He obtained his certification in internal medicine in 1995 and was then certified in medical oncology. Currently, he is head of the Thoracic Oncology Functional Unit at the Jules Bordet Institute, Brussels, Belgium. He is professor of evidence-based medicine at the ULB. He has authored or co-authored over 230 original articles in peer-reviewed journals and 15 book chapters. He is President of the European Lung Cancer Working Party and coordinates cooperative academic trials. He has carried out systematic reviews, meta-analyses and clinical practice guidelines and has worked as an expert at consensus conferences on mesothelioma, lung cancer and quality indicators for the management of bronchial cancers. He is a reader of scientific journals, editor-in-chief of the journal Lung Cancer and the Revue Médicale de Bruxelles. He is a member of several international scientific societies.
