Prof. Nuria M. Novoa is Chief of the Thoracic Surgery Department at Puerta de Hierro University Hospital, Madrid, Spain, and Professor of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Salamanca, where she obtained her PhD in 2002. She is EBTS certified and has been a member of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) since 2000. She was appointed ESTS Director in 2017 and served on the Learning Affairs Committee, coordinating the ESTS Annual Knowledge Track Course. In 2021, she became ESTS Director of Education, leading the expansion of the society’s educational initiatives, and later served as ESTS President (2024–2025). An active researcher, she has published over 150 papers with an H-index of 25. She is also a dedicated mother and sports enthusiast who values patient-centered care.
